Sleepaway Camp Nurse at Beam Camp

CAMP DESCRIPTION:

Beam is a unique summer camp for the fine and manual arts where each summer campers ages 9-17 collaborate on a spectacular project. Our mission is to help kids explore what it means to make  things with their own bodies and brains, and how that creativity is relevant and applicable to everything in their lives. They transform ideas into artifacts, and personal achievement into community success. They also have a lot of fun! The centerpiece of the program is the Beam Project. Each summer Beam commissions a unique, large-scale collaborative endeavor that campers and staff produce and enjoy.  

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Beam Camp is hiring a Nurse for our 2026 summer program. The Beam Nurse’s responsibility is to provide medical care for approximately 75-100 campers, and 25-30 adult staff by implementing camp Health Center protocols such as:

• Reviewing of incoming health forms for campers & staff

• Medication distribution

• Caring for ill or injured campers and staff

• Maintaining Health Lodge records

• Communication with parents as necessary for illness or injury

• Arranging for outside care to local urgent care or hospital if needed, and occasionally transporting injured or sick individuals

• Picking up prescriptions from local pharmacies

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Licensed RN (preferred), MD, NP, EMT, LPN

• Ability to relate to one’s peers as well as campers

• Organized with good communication skills

• Possess strong leadership skills

• Emotionally mature, willing to accept responsibility

• Exhibit the ability to place the needs of the campers and camp above their own

• Team player that can relate positively to staff, volunteers, and campers
• Be in good health, vitality, and physical stamina

We invite our nurse to be an integral part of the camp community joining in on the fun and learning amid the camp’s beautiful New Hampshire surroundings (lake and woods included).

DATES of EMPLOYMENT: June 20th, 2026 - August 10, 2026. 

SALARY: $1,000-$1,200 a week. Room & board and food included. Salary can be exchanged for camper tuition with a stipend.

TIME OFF: Negotiable, with a relief nurse available.
